Custom Millwork

Moulding in a home is like the icing on a cake. It completes the interior or exterior of a structure. The Ring’s End Millshop has over 5,000 moulding profiles to choose from to give your project a custom, finished look. From crowns to rosettes, casings to brackets, we can do it all. The Ring’s End Millshop in Milford, CT is a true hub for innovation and creativity.

Our state-of-the-art machinery includes 3 linear moulders and 2 CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines, the newest of which are a 6-head moulder and a 5-axis CNC machine, which enable us to handle complex projects.

Our custom moulding profiles can be made in domestic and exotic woods as well as wood substitute materials, such as PVC. Our selection of in-stock hardwoods includes species such as African Mahogany, Alder, Cherry, Genuine Mahogany, Hard Maple, Poplar, Sapele, Soft Maple, Spanish Cedar, and White Oak.  Please inquire if you are interested in a species other than the ones we stock. PVC is also a great option for exterior mouldings as it is resistant to rot, insects, and extreme weather conditions.

Architectural brackets, corbels, pilasters, and columns are other decorative features we create. You often see these on historical and Victorian homes; brackets and corbels can be purely decorative or structural supports for balconies, porches, and eaves.

The Ring's End Millshop services all 8 of our full-service locations as well as many customers who are interested in replicating historic architectural features. You can bring us an old, rotting crown or door casing, and that profile can be perfectly replicated from the sample. Historical restoration is one of our specialties in Milford.

We can also completely customize an existing design. For example, if you like the look of beadboard but have a specific look in mind, we can customize the profile by varying the bead and groove size and shape.  Scott Curcio, Production Manager of the Millshop says, “Give us the drawings and we will find a way of manufacturing it.” The employees who work in the Millshop are true craftsmen who take immense pride in their work and are extremely detail-oriented.

The Millshop also fabricates custom shiplap and tongue and groove in a tight joint, or nickel gap pattern in any width specified, and custom barn siding, rough sawn and wire brushed for added texture.

Our current selection of custom moulding profiles is available online. In addition, if you have a specific design in mind, we are happy to create and produce it for you. We even have rapid prototyping capabilities so we can provide 3D-printed samples. To learn a little more about the types of custom moulding we can create, click here.
