What’s the difference between window inserts and full-frame replacement windows?
Insert replacement windows are installed within the existing window frames. The old window sash and hardware are the only parts replaced. Since they are essentially a frame within a frame, replacement window inserts will reduce the visible glass area. Inserts can only be used if the old windows are not out of frame, not in need of extensive repairs, and not made from vinyl. The Andersen 400 Series Woodwright Double-Hung Window and 400 Series Tilt-Wash Double Hung Window are available as window inserts.
With a full-frame replacement window, the old windows and trim are removed down to the studs before a new window is installed in the opening. A new construction window can also be used as a replacement window.
What is the life expectancy of Andersen Windows?
All Andersen windows are high-performing and long-lasting products with varying life spans depending on the material, maintenance, and weather conditions. The A-Series is the best-performing window collection from Andersen, featuring solid wood windows clad in a low-maintenance composite and fiberglass exterior. A high-quality clad wood window should have a 20 to 40-year lifespan.
What is the warranty for Andersen windows?
Most other window and door warranties end when a home is sold. Andersen’s coverage — 20 years on glass, 10 years on non-glass parts — transfers from each homeowner to the next for ultimate peace of mind. Since the Owner-2-Owner® limited warranty is not prorated, the coverage offers full benefits, year after year, owner after owner.
What’s the difference between Andersen’s A-Series, 400 Series, 200 Series, and 100 Series?
Ring’s End showcases and sells Andersen’s A-Series, 400 Series, 200 Series, and 100 Series windows and doors.
The A-Series features the best-performing windows and doors from Andersen, with a wood interior protected by a composite and fiberglass exterior.
The 400 Series from Andersen is their best-selling collection, featuring vinyl-clad wood windows that blend performance and style. This series also features the widest range of customization options.
The Andersen 200 Series is a streamlined selection of vinyl-clad wood windows and patio doors. By focusing on only the most popular styles, the 200 Series delivers Andersen quality at a great value.
Andersen 100 Series windows and doors are engineered with Fibrex® composite material for a more durable alternative to vinyl.
Are Andersen windows energy efficient?
Andersen offers multiple high-performance glass options that make it possible for homeowners to get Andersen windows and patio doors that are ENERGY STAR® certified anywhere in the country. Learn more about the energy performance options for Andersen windows on their website.
The A-Series features the most energy-efficient windows and doors offered by Andersen, with all products available on triple-pane glass — Andersen’s most energy-efficient glass that helps keep more heat in and cold air out. Homeowners can also choose from various high-performance and Low-E glass options to achieve the best energy efficiency in their region — including Low-E4® Glass, Low-E4 SmartSun™ Glass, and Low-E4 Sun Glass.
What’s the difference between Andersen and Renewal by Andersen?
Renewal by Andersen is a subsidiary of Andersen Corporation. Renewal by Andersen franchises only sell a replacement window product line called “Acclaim”, alongside window installation services. An Andersen retailer like Ring’s End sells comprehensive collections of Andersen windows and doors.
