Ring’s End is committed to helping its customers ― both professional and non-professional ― build energy-efficient homes and buildings. A key to that process is choosing and installing the proper insulation for each application. Insulation is measured by its R-Value or its resistance to thermal conductivity. The higher the R-Value, the greater the resistance to heat passing through. Insulation that is sprayed in or blown-in should be supplied and installed by specialists. Ring’s End offers a wide variety of insulation that can be installed without special skills or equipment.

Types of Insulation

Fiberglass Insulation

Fiberglass insulation has been the building-industry standard for most of the last half-century. Ring’s End carries fiberglass insulation in thicknesses from 3 1/2 in. to 12 in. with R-Values from R-13 to R-38. Fiberglass insulation comes either as rolls that have to be cut to length or as pre-cut batts that fit in standard stud bays, either 16-in. or 24-in on center.

Rigid Foam Insulation

Ring’s End carries rigid foam insulation that can be applied to the outside of a building frame or between framing members to increase the thermal efficiency of the wall, ceiling, or floor. Rigid insulation can be applied below ground to the outside of the foundation as well as below poured concrete slabs. As with other forms of insulation, the thicker the foam, the greater the R-Value.

Fire Safing Insulation

This product is designed for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings as fire-stopping insulation. Ideal for filling perimeter gaps between concrete floor slabs and exterior wall systems, around conduit pipe and duct openings through walls and floor slabs, and between fire walls and ceiling slabs. It is also water and moisture-resistant and earns LEED points.

Acoustical Sound Barrier

Ring’s End carries acoustical sound barriers that reduce sound transmission. SoundSense is a low-cost, high-performance noise barrier for walls and floors. It nails directly to studs or floor joists beneath drywall or underlayment. This rubberized, flexible material contains no asbestos and won’t rot or shrink. Ring’s End stocks SoundSense LV-1 in 30-foot rolls, and we can special order the product in other sizes.

Thermo Sheathing

Dow Tuff-R® Insulating Sheathing is for use in residential or commercial construction with wood or metal framing to provide additional insulation for the following exterior sidings: Brick or wood, hardboards, aluminum & vinyl sidings which are fastened to the wood or metal frame through sheathing.

Poly Sheeting

Poly Sheeting is used when a vapor barrier is required. Place it between living space and insulation. Ring’s End stocks 4-Mil and 6-Mil thick rolls in 25-, 50-, and 100-foot lengths with widths ranging from 4' to 32'. Some sizes are available in black.
