Many interior coatings contain harsh solvents that release highly toxic fumes – known as VOCs, or Volatile Organic Compounds – into the air long after application. Purity Interior 0-VOC Stain Base uses nature’s own solvent, water. Application is simple and trouble-free, with no unsightly splatter or brush-marks. Purity Interior Stain is UV resistant, fast drying, washable and non-flammable with easy soap and water clean-up. For a topcoat, Purity Floor, Glacier or Clear formulas will deliver a beautiful finish.

Surface Preparation: Remove all hardware or cover hardware that cannot be removed. Surface must be dry and free of contaminants such as waxes, silicones, glues and dirt. Do not use steel wool or anything that may leave iron particulate on the wood surface. Repair any defects in the surface, such as holes and cracks using only quality, acrylic-based tinted, wood fillers to match the color of the project. Wood filler must be allowed to dry completely prior to sanding. Extra effort in sanding will pay off in aesthetics. Use 120-150 grit sandpaper and always sand with the grain for best results. Remove dust particles by vacuuming and wipe with damp cloth. Test formula on an inconspicuous wood surface to ensure proper color and penetration.
Application: Apply Purity Interior Stain by sprayer or with a China bristle brush or a pad applicator. Spread the finish evenly. Purity Stain has excellent leveling properties; be careful not to overwork the product. For spray application use conventional or air assist airless, avoid high sheer pumps. Contamination in pump can cause cratering or other surface issues. Equipment should be cleaned before use. Test formula on an inconspicuous wood surface to ensure proper color and penetration. Spread the stain consistently and remove excess to control color and grain raising by brush or rag. To extend the open time of the product add up to 4 oz. of Sansin extender.
Dry Time: Allow 1 hour for drying in proper conditions when the temperature is 70°F (21°C) and the relative humidity is higher than 50%. For deeper color request a stronger formula from your dealer. When using a tinted product be sure to stir well before and during application. Once the surface is completely dry, finish with Purity Interior Clear, Glacier or Floor for a protective finish.
