Ed has been with Ring's End for a little over two years working in Paint Sales at our Stratford Commercial Paint Center and specializing in higher end designer products. Ed's desire to fill a unique role within Ring's End's paint department is one of the things that makes him such a stand out employee. He truly cares about making sure customers are happy with the Ring's End experience, and we know he will continue to add value to the company and thrive in his career.
I was working for another major paint company and felt the strain of being so far removed from the people making decisions that held back my ability to grow in favor of a one-size-fits-all business plan. A close friend of mine was working for Ring's End already, and told me in exhaustive detail about all of the ways it was a better fit for me. Turns out he knew what he was talking about.
My first day was nothing I expected. I was coming from being in charge of a full staff to being the rookie, and I anticipated having to color inside someone else's lines. As soon as the store manager got me set up working on the counter, he was helping me to shape the job around how I work instead of the other way around. That gave me a great idea about the culture at Ring's End.
I've had the pleasure of working for and with so many insightful people, but the one piece of advice I always go back to was from my father. He told me that the most valuable people anywhere are the ones that do whatever needs doing. Be the person that will handle any problem, clean any mess, answer any phone call, and you'll always have a place anywhere you choose to be.
The most impactful thing I've noticed through my time at Ring's End is the willingness by leadership to give due attention to any idea or concern. Whether it's new equipment, updates to policy, or new business opportunities, everything is at least considered. Even ideas that are not implemented get a thoughtful and measured response.
