DEFY Extreme Wood Stain is a synthetic-resin, semi-transparent wood stain formulated using state-of-the-art nano-technology to create a level of durability that simply has not been available in a wood stain finish in the past. Extreme Wood Stain is the newest member of the DEFY line of wood products and is our most innovative, high-performance product yet. Ultraviolet rays cause wood to turn gray and become susceptible to water penetration and decay. DEFY Extreme Wood Stain effectively protects the wood from the harmful effects of the sun and from graying by using state-of-the-art nano-technology. Extreme Wood Stain contains zinc oxide particles that reflect the damaging ultraviolet rays from the sun. When you reduce the size of these zinc particles down to the nano level, they become invisible to the naked eye. These nano-particles are distributed at a rate of over 30 trillion per square inch of surface area to provide protection from the sun, much like sun blockers and sunscreen lotions.

Application: Shake or stir contents before and periodically during use. To ensure absolute color uniformity from container to container, mix at least one third of the product from a used container with the contents of a new one. Do not thin product. Decks: Start by applying DEFY Extreme Wood Stain to the railings, benches, and undersides of upper level decks (only one coat is required on undersides). Once underside is treated, immediately brush out all overspray, drips, etc. Treat horizontal surfaces last. Horizontal surfaces: On horizontal cedar, mahogany, and other dense woods, apply only one coat of finish. For pressure treated lumber and other porous woods apply two coats, waiting approximately 20 minutes between coats. It is very important to not let the first coat dry completely before applying the second coat. Brush product into surface working out all drips, puddles, or areas of overspray before product dries. Do not over apply finish. To avoid the possibility of peeling, apply only as much finish as the wood can easily absorb. A sure indication of over application is a shiny appearance. Complete entire sections or to a natural break before allowing to dry. Never break in the middle of a board. Thoroughly coat the ends of boards or logs to prevent water penetration. All surface checks on logs should be thoroughly coated. Coverage Rate: Approx. 100-150 sq. ft. per gallon Dry Time: 2-4 hours (above 45° F), allow 24 hours before using Cleanup: Soap and water
