This premium exterior alkyd primer is ideal for sealing new or previously coated wood. It provides excellent stain blocking for tannin-rich woods including cedar or redwood. Offers outstanding stain suppression and excellent penetration for maximum adhesion and a long-lasting finish, even on weathered and chalky surfaces. Not to be mixed or batched with 094 00 or C85 00. If allowed to properly dry then can use either one after completely dry prior coat.
Recommended for exterior priming of new or previously coated wood, under light color stains and where cedar and redwood bleeding may be a problem.

Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, dust, grease, oil, soap, wax, peeling paint, scaling paint, water soluble maerials and mildew. Cement based water proofing paints should be removed. Glossy surfaces must be dulled. Un-weathered areas such as eaves, porch ceilings, overhangs and protected wall areas should be washed with a Benjamin Moore® Clean (018) and rinsed with a strong stream of water from a garden hose or power washer to remove contaminants that can interfere with proper adhesion. Stains from mildew must be removed by cleaning with Benjamin Moore® Clean (018) prior to coating the surface. Wood substrates must be thoroughly dry. Caution: Smooth planed clapboards or siding must be sanded thoroughly to break the “mill glaze” allowing proper penetration and adhesion.
Application: Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during use. Two coats provides maximum sealing and stain suppression. Do not apply when air and surface temperatures are below 50 °F (10 °C). Apply one or two coats. For best results, use a custom-blended china bristle, chinex, or nylon/polyester brush. Can be brushed, rolled or sprayed. Spray, Airless-Fluid Pressure: 1,500-2,000 PSI, Tip Size: 0.13-0.17 Orifice
