CableRail Stainless Steel Protector Sleeves are an accessory item for the CableRail cable assemblies. CableRail cables are typically laced through holes drilled in wood posts, and occasionally conditions arise where the cable enters a post hole at an angle which tends to cut or abrade the wood at the edge of the hole. Examples of such conditions are the outside faces of double corner posts where the cable wraps around or the posts at the top or bottom of stairs where the cables transition from a horizontal run to an angled stair slope. Protector sleeves are inserted into the drill hole to reinforce the edge of hole and protect the wood from unwanted abrasions. The sleeves penetrate 7/8" into the post hole for a solid grip and have an outer flange to provide an excellent bearing edge as well as an attractive finished appearance.
