As ventilation, a… Show more bimetal coil automatically opens and closes the louvers as the temperature changes. The louvers are fully closed at 35 (F) degrees and fully open at 75 (F) degrees. As flood protection, the vent door is latched until it comes in contact with standing or slow-moving flood water where it automatically opens to relieve potentially damaging hydrostatic pressure from foundation and enclosure walls.
