Step 1: Cut off the tip of the cartridge above the threading and discard.

Step 2: Using the syringe, draw up 20-30 mL of paint (or 10-15 mL of stain) and inject into the top of the cartridge. (Use 30 mL of paint to get better hiding power on thinner beads or lighter colors. 20 mL of paint may be used for thicker beads or darker colors. The final, mixed caulk will be slightly thinner if more paint is used. It will be thicker if less paint is used.)

Step 3: Screw on cap and shake the cartridge for at least 60 seconds — by hand or in a paint shaker/mixer.

Step 4: Open the thickener, remove the cap from the cartridge, and squeeze the entire contents of the thickener into the cartridge.

Step 5: Replace the cap and vigorously shake the cartridge for at least 60 seconds. The first 5 seconds are the most critical.

Step 6: Wait at least 30 minutes for the caulk to fully thicken. It is acceptable to wait up to 6 months to use the caulk.

Step 7: Remove cap, attach the nozzle, cut it to desired bead size, and apply.
