Simiron Metallic Pigment Additive, Bright Orange, 32 oz.

A 32 oz. jar is added to 3 gallon of mixed epoxy, which covers approxiamtely 100–160 Sq. Ft., depending on thickness applied. Metallic epoxy applied thinner, will have less depth and may have more defects. To the mixed epoxy, add the Metallic Additive powder slowly while mixing with low-speed drill and jiffy mixing blade. Mix for an additional three minutes or until all metallic is completely dispersed in mixing container. 

Metallic Additive is applied in an epoxy resin system that is at least 30 mils thick over a colored primer, typically black, gray, or white for lighter colors. For lighter colors to have more depth may need additional metallic pigment for such colors as oyster and pearl.

Application:

1. Immediately after the material has been mixed, pour it all onto the floor in a ribbon, out of the bucket.
2. Apply at a spread rate of 33-54 square feet per gallon to yield 30 – 48 mils wet film thickness using a notched squeegee.
3. Push the squeegee in the same direction as the ribbon with a slight angle to plow extra material to the side.
4. Parallel to the first pass, overlap and continue to move material down the floor.
5. Back-roll across the squeegee passes with a non-shedding 3/8 in. nap roller.
6. After evening out the epoxy with a back-roll, go back over the floor with a roller using circular, swirling patterns to create a unique three-dimensional appearance.
7. Use joints as natural breaks to divide sections of the floor. Apply the material in a uniform thickness to yield consistent, metallic effects. The effect you create will change as the Metallic Additive flows and settles while the epoxy cures.
