Kathy Andersen is the Phone Operator at Ring’s End, so if you have called our main line, you have probably spoken to her! She originally started working part-time in Accounting in Bethel and transitioned to full time. As the location got busier and business grew, she was asked to handle answering phones. When it was clear that she was able to handle the phones with ease and stay cool under pressure she began answering all of the calls that come in through the mainline, fielding hundreds of calls a day.
During her time at Ring’s End, Kathy worked in Bethel for 14 years and has worked in Darien for almost 10. One of Kathy’s best memories at Ring’s End is being warmly welcomed when she joined the Darien store. Kathy felt right at home as everyone was friendly and welcoming. Kathy has worked with Ring’s End for 23 years as and is retiring in a week! In all of her time here, she says that the biggest change she has seen has been the technological advancements. Seeing and experiencing the shift of everything written and edited by hand to now having the ability to scan, edit and send everything by computer.

1 – What do you remember about your first day and week at Ring’s End?
I started in Accounting and I remember spending a lot of time dealing with files and making sure they were all managed and organized correctly.
2 – What is the best advice you have ever been given?
The best advice I was ever given is to treat people the way that you want to be treated. It is how I live my life.
3 – If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
It would be the ability to cure cancer.
4 – What 3 words would you use to describe what it has meant to work at Ring’s End?
Security. Consideration. Camaraderie.
5 – What 3 words would your coworkers use to describe you?
I would hope they would say, pleasant, smiling and considerate.
