Lynda worked as an Interior Designer for more than 15 years. Her original degree was in the design arts but soon after graduation was offered a position with great potential in the telecommunications field. As she continued to be promoted, one of the benefits of her positions was the ability to travel internationally allowing her the opportunity to discover the beauty in historically rich environments. “What I truly loved about working in Europe was being constantly surrounded by the beauty and different architectural styles. I found it very inspiring”.
After some time Lynda knew that she wanted to return to working in the world of beauty and design and went back to school to refresh her degree. Lynda has participated in volunteer organizations in New York City and Connecticut. These days she can be found at our Fairfield location. With her attention to detail and design elements, she can help with projects from a powder room to whole house decorating. Visit Lynda at our Fairfield Design Center and she’ll happily help you select wallpaper, custom window treatments, carpet, or just the right paint colors that will make your rooms flow flawlessly.
Five Fun Questions
1 – What are your favorite elements to work with?
My favorite is to work with all of the elements, really pulling together a room with custom design pieces including custom window treatments. Making over the room, soup to nuts.
2 – What 3 colors are your favorite, can you choose just 3?
There is no way I can choose 3. However, I personally love the blue, purple and grey color families.
3 – When you aren’t working, what do you most like to do in your spare time?
I love spending time with family, I adore my dogs, boating, and I’m an avid reader. The name of our boat is the “Dogonit” so you can probably tell the whole family enjoys boating.
4 – Describe your design style in 3 words.
Transitional. Creative. Resourceful.
5 – What has been your favorite room/job/home to design?
I have two favorite projects. My top favorite project was to design the interior for a whole house in San Ramone, California this spring. These were clients I’d worked for in their previous homes who loved my style so they flew me out to San Francisco to help on the new house. We did as much as we could via Skype sessions but nothing is as good as seeing and being in the space you’re designing!
I was thrilled to be selected to do a room in a designer showhouse here in Connecticut. It’s quite an exciting and hectic event to participate in. With many designers it’s great camaraderie and all for a worthy charity cause.
